Well, it has been a while since I last posted, and the target of this blog has changed somewhat now. The Hawaiian Life has changed through the providence of our creator.
Almost a year ago, our daughter Kimberly and two of our grandsons, Zander & Michael moved here, we no longer live in the "beach hut" condo by the sea, we now have a three bedroom house, "Up Mauka (Hawaiian for mountainside), and we care for our 3 yo grandson while mom work.
Where we live now gives us a 160° view of the ocean & coast, with spectacular sunsets most nights. We have the joys & frustrations of being active grandparents, and would not trade a moment of it for anything!
We are still experiencing the joys of living on the Big Island, but no we are sharing the wonders of this island with the boys. We've been snorkeling, Zander loves that & is good at it. We've spent time at the beach with our Hawaiian family friends (at Pinetrees), we go to Kuhio Bay, great beach for kids, and we of course go to Hapuna Beach, Zander's favorite sandy beach. Then there are the wonderful parks here that are great entertainment for the kids. The Harold H Higashihara Park is this really cool wooden park (picture below),
Is very entertaining for the kids. There is so much for them to do here that they run constantly, and come home pooped out!
I will, as time affords me, continue to post on a Hawaiian Life, about the adventures of our family here on the Big Island, and continue to highlight must see attractions and places to eat!
Aloha & a hui hou!
